Survey Buddy Display Configuration

The Survey Buddy Display iPart is used to display a survey on an iMIS RiSE page. The configuration looks as follows:

Survey Type:

  • "Normal Survey" refers to a standard survey that is not a  quiz.
  • "Quiz Survey" refers to a survey where you can allocate correct answers and a score for each question. A quiz survey can also allocate a result of Pass or Fail based on the percentage pass rate allocated.

Allow Anonymous Submissions: This is a truly anonymous survey, which means the user does not need to login and also the submissions are all stored against the same contact ID. You must specify the contact ID of the contact where the submissions will be saved.

Allow ContactKey for Unauthenticated user: A unique link must be sent to each contact which contains their Contact Key. This allows them to complete the survey without being logged in, but with the added benefit of still recording the survey against that contact record.

Primary Color: The primary color used within the survey. This is usually configured to match your branding.

Survey Source:

  • "Specific Survey" allows you to pick the survey that will be displayed on this page. This option may be useful if you want complete control of what the URL will be for a specific survey.
  • "URL Parameter Survey ID" means that this page can be used for any survey, however the unique 'SurveyID' must be included in the URL.

Multiple Submission: 'Yes' or 'No' as to whether the survey can be submitted once or multiple times per user. This option is not available for Anonymous Surveys.

On Complete:

  • "Show Thank You" will take the user to a RiSE page once they submit the survey. This option may be useful if you want a lot of flexibility with what is displayed on the thank you page as it is just another RiSE page. For this option to work, in the Survey Settings you must point to the Thank You page via the 'Redirect on Complete' setting.
  • "Show Read-Only" will display a read only version of the survey once complete. This option may be useful within the staff site or member portal to allow users to view a read only survey submission.
  • "Leave it in Editable Mode" will display an editable version of the survey on complete. This option may be useful for staff, if you want to allow them to edit surveys that have been submitted.
  • "Dynamic Survey Complete Page" will display the thank you message entered within the survey. This option is preferred over the 'Show Thank You' option as it means staff don't need to create a RiSE thank you page for each survey.
  • "Show Quiz Results" will show the results of the quiz on completion. Only available for survey type of Quiz.

Overwrite ID with Contact Key (only for upgrades from 2017 to Cloud): Only used for customers that used Survey Buddy in iMIS 2017 and then upgraded to EMS. In iMIS 2017 the SBuddy_Answers panel source primary key was 'ContactKey', whereas in EMS it is 'ID'. Our code checks the iMIS version and then looks for the correct primary key, however clients who upgraded Survey Buddy from 2017 to EMS will have a primary key of 'ContactKey' in the EMS version which is not consistent with our rules. This configuration must be enabled in this scenario, so that we identify the correct primary key name.
