Troubleshooting: three checks first
Most problems are one of these.
1. Check the time period
Overview has a period selector, usually the last 30 days. Every figure on the screen follows it. A number that looks wrong is more often the wrong period than a wrong number.
2. Check you are looking at the right search
A site can have more than one search box, each with its own settings, pins and promotions. A change made against one will not appear in another.
3. Give the overnight crawl a chance
Content you publish today is picked up on the next overnight read, not immediately. If a page is only hours old, that is usually the whole explanation.
