Results, filters and sorting
Each result
- The title, a short summary with your search words highlighted, and a label for its type, such as Web page, PDF or Event.
- Featured means your organisation has chosen this page for this search.
- Members only, with a padlock, means the full page is for signed-in members.
- Events show their date, an Upcoming label if the event is still to come, and the time and location where known.
Promotions
A card labelled Promotion may appear above the results. Your organisation writes these to point you at something useful for that search, such as a sign-in page. They can appear even when there are no results.
Filters
- The bar of buttons across the top narrows results by type. All is always first. Each button shows how many results it holds.
- The Filters button opens more filters. The number beside it shows how many are active.
- Date filters for events offer Upcoming, This month, Next 30 days and Past, or a From and To date.
- Active filters show as small labels you can remove one at a time, or all at once with Clear all.
Sort and view
- Sort offers Relevance, Newest, Oldest and Title A–Z.
- Switch between list view and card view with the two buttons beside it.
- Move between pages with the page numbers, or Load more results at the bottom, depending on how your site is set up.
Sharing a search
On a search page, the web address changes as you search and filter. Copy it to share the same search with someone, and the browser Back button takes you to your previous search.
When nothing is found
You will see: No results for "your words". Try different or more general keywords, or check your spelling. If an AI answer is showing, the message points you to it instead.
