Answer Buddy > Looking after your search

Your weekly ten minutes

Search gets better when someone spends ten minutes a week on what did not go well. This is the routine.

  1. Open Overview, then the Worklist tab. It shows Needs attention first: searches that found nothing, then searches nobody clicked and the assistant did not answer. The busiest come first.
  2. Click a search to open its full story. It shows how often it was searched, what came back, what people opened, and why it went wrong.
  3. Choose one of four fixes. Nearly every row is one of these:
    • Members use a different word: add a synonym.
    • The right page exists but is not first: pin it.
    • The destination is a login page or another site: add a promotion.
    • Nothing on your website answers it: add a paragraph to the right page, or write an answer.
  4. Use the row menu. The "…" on each row offers Add synonym, Pin a result, Create promotion and Write an answer, with the search already filled in.
  5. Send us the rest. If a row fits none of the four, tell us the search, what you expected, and what you got.

Rows that look like a person's name have no menu. They are grouped, and their words are not shown.
