Putting it on your website
This page is for the person who edits your iMIS website.
Three ways it can appear

What visitors see |
Use it for |
|
Header search |
A search button in your site header that opens a search panel over the page. |
Site-wide search from every page. |
|
Page search |
The search box and results built into a page. |
A dedicated search page, or a directory search. |
|
Chatbot |
An "Ask AI" button that opens a conversation window. |
A conversational assistant, with or without a search box on the page. |
Adding it to a page
- Pseudo Code gives you the code for each placement.
- In iMIS, edit the page and add a Content Html content item where the search should go. For a header search, use the item your site template uses on every page.
- Paste the code in and publish the page.
Ask us before changing the code. It contains your site's key and the settings for that placement.
More than one search on a page
A page can have a header search and a page search together, each with its own scope. For example, a site-wide search in the header and a directory search in the page. Only the page search updates the web address, so a search can be shared as a link.
Choosing what each search covers
Each search box is set up on the Searches screen with its own name and scope. Talk to us before adding or changing one.
