Get new content into search

New and changed pages are picked up on the next overnight crawl. Records from iMIS, such as events, arrive on each feed's schedule. Most of the time you do not need to do anything.

If a page is only hours old

Wait for the overnight crawl. That is usually the whole explanation.

If it cannot wait

On Crawls, you can start one manual crawl per site in any 24 hours:

  • Start crawl reads the whole website again.
  • Recrawl URLs re-reads the addresses you paste, one per line. It also follows the links on those pages, so it can read many more pages than you listed.

Both use the same daily allowance. The screen tells you when the next one is available.

Checking a crawl

The Crawl report at the top of Crawls shows the last crawl: pages checked, new, changed and removed, and any that could not be read. Crawl history lists earlier crawls. A crawl in progress can be stopped with Stop.

New pages are found by following links, so a page nothing links to may never be found. See Website health.
