Asking a question
The search can sit in your website header, where it opens as a panel over the page, or directly on a page. Both work the same way.
Type a question or a few words
- Questions work best. "How do I renew my membership?" gets a written answer. "renewal" gets a list of results.
- Results start to appear as you type, once you have typed two letters.
- Suggestions appear under the box as you type: popular searches and page titles. Use the arrow keys and Enter to pick one, or keep typing.
- Press Enter to search. Press Escape to close the suggestions.
- The ✕ in the box clears the search, including any filters.
Before you type
The search may show a few example questions under the heading Try asking. Click one to search it.
Turning the AI answer on or off
If your organisation offers it, a switch labelled AI answer sits in the search box. Turn it off to see results only. Your choice is remembered next time on the same device.
The header search panel
- It opens when you click the search button or icon in the header.
- Close it with the ✕, the Escape key, or by clicking outside it. Your search is kept if you open it again.
