Asking by voice
If your organisation has turned it on, a microphone button appears in the search box and in the chatbot.
How to use it
- Press the microphone. The first time, your browser asks for permission to use it. Choose Allow.
- When you see Listening, speak now, say your question.
- Your words appear in the box. Check them.
- Press Search, or Send in the chatbot. Nothing is searched until you do, so a misheard word is easy to fix first.
Press the microphone again to stop listening.
Which browsers
Voice works in Chrome, Edge and Safari. Firefox does not support it, so the button does not appear there. The browser turns your speech into text using its own service from Google, Microsoft or Apple.
